Author: Simone Rocha, Contributions by Cindy Sherman and Petra Collins and Tim Blanks and Ed Templeton
Publisher: Rizzoli
Simone Rocha’s book runs from her first Fashion East collection after her graduation from St Martins to the year she launched menswear and before she started her guest designer role at Jean Paul Gaultier. It provides a gaze into the Irish designer’s world, one heavily inspired by the work of Louise Bourgeois and, undeniably, Rei Kawakubo of Commes des Garcons. Insightfully edited, designed, and crafted, it gathers catwalk images, shadowy editorials, and backstage imagery in a manner that stays true to the very nature of the world Rocha has created.
Working closely with Simone Rocha’s studio in London, I acquired many of the plate and comparative images shown throughout the book, which was published in October 2024.
